The F65 boasts a 2.75 continuous HP motor, a nice step up from its little brother the F63, and delivers speeds up to 11 mph and up to a 15% incline. It also has a larger running surface – 20×58, so you’ve gained some stride length for more comfortable running.

The F65 has a starting speed of only 0.5mph, and includes a large stop switch for safety. Six preset programs let you do cardio training or fat burning specific programs. Cooling fans make your workout a ‘breeze’, and its built-in speakers let you hook up to your favorite MP3 player. Speed and incline controls on the arm rests let you change your workout without having to reach forward to the console.

The 7-inch blue backlit LCD display allows for easier reading, with indicators for speed, distance, time, pulse, pace, calories and incline. The message window scrolls to walk you through features, and you can use the visual graph of peaks/valleys or a 1/4 mile track with the different programs.

The Sole F65 is a solid machine, and is suitable for light running. It is stable, because Sole has implemented its solid double horseshoe folding frame. It’s a step up from the F63, and well worth your consideration for a great (outstanding perhaps) entry level treadmill. Do take note that there are no heart rate programs.

The F65 Treadmill fits perfectly in SOLE’s treadmill lineup, nesting nicely between the entry-level sub-$1,000 F63 and the near-commercial grade feature-laden F80 (which runs about $1500). This is clearly one of the top notch folding treadmills in the $1200 range.
